Rather than the classic log cabin with its stacked solid interlocking trunks defining the exterior walls, the request for this cabin was to use stacked split-faced boards to conjure that same feel, but represent a more refined log cabin design approach.  The edge trim also adds to that refinement.  The diamond patterned zinc roofing will not only stand the test of time, but will also provide an elegant texture to this design type.  

The signature space on the interior is the two-story Living Room with 23 foot-high stone dual-sided fireplace as the central focal point.  This great room connects directly to the Dining Room and Foyer, with a single door entryway to a large, private Study.  The Study is glazed on three sides and provides access and 180 degree views of the property.  Above the Study is the large Master Suite with his/her bathrooms and a similar 180 degree view terrace.  From the Master Suite, a walkway overlooking the 2-story Living Room connects a second Study/Music Room to the other secondary bedroom suites and the main stairway.
